Hello bloggers. My name is Magan Atwood and I have the great blessing of serving as the Director for Appalachian Ministries. I am originally from Eubank, Kentucky but have lived in Williamsburg for almost ten years. I graduated from University of the Cumberlands in 2006 with a major in Religion and minor in Communication Arts. I also have a Masters of Arts in Religion in Pastoral Counseling from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary and I recently received Board Certification through the American Association of Christian Counselors. I have served as the Director of Appalachian Ministries and the Campus Ministries Associate for four years. I am married to the love of my life, David Atwood, who serves with me on our campus and in the community. He also serves as a 7th grade math teaching in our county school. We will celebrate our 5 year wedding anniversary on June 16 this year. We have a passion for students and desire to disciple them, help them discover their calling and passion, and help develop their Christian leadership skills. We have a blast serving together and getting to do what God has placed a deep desire in our hearts to do. Our heart breaks for the children and families in our area and we desire to show them God's great love. We really strive, along with our incredible student volunteers, to put love in action. We are blessed beyond measure to be serving our Heavenly Father.
Hey to all you bloggers! My name is Sarah England, and I am a sophomore at University of the Cumberlands. My major is biology, and I hope to attend medical school upon graduating. During the school year, I serve as the team leader for AM on Mondays nights in Canadatown. I am so thankful God has given me the opportunity to be a part of this incredible ministry in a county that so desperatley needs to see His love! God has placed a burning desire in my heart to work with kids, so I am beyond excited to serve and love on the families in Whitley County this summer as we show them how wonderful our God is!

Hey, I'm Patrick Rowe and I am a Junior at the University of the Cumberlands. I am from Lawrenceburg, KY and now I am a Human Services major with minors in Math and Criminal Justice. I have been involved with AM for a year and a half, and during the school year I am now one of the leaders at Brush Arbor. I am very excited to serve on the AM Summer team 2012 and to see how we will grow this summer.
Hey blog readers. My name is Eric Wright. This coming fall I will be a junior here at University of the Cumberlands. I am a Biology major, but I am picking up my certification in secondary education to teach high school. I have been involved with Appalachian Ministries over the past few semesters now and God has made it evident for me to serve and love children of all ages. I am usually involved with the Tuesday night Brush Arbor team which hosts a group of kids from an apartment complex for a bible lesson, snacks, games, and music. This summer there is a lot in store for our team, but our main plan and goal is to put "love in action" and to share the one and only love God has for all of us to children, youth, and anyone we come into contact with. So... please read on and let the summer begin!

I'm very excited about this summer and the many locations the team will be working. God has alot in store for this summer and prayers would be much appreciated.
My name is Tess Henderson. I'm from Hindman, Kentucky. I am a Public Health major at the University of the Cumberlands. My parents are missionaries at Camp Nathanael, a camp in Emmalena, Kentucky, where I have volunteered the past 6 years. I love working with kids and teaching them about Jesus! I am excited to be on the Appalachian Ministries summer team and am excited to see how God is going to work this summer. It's gonna be amazing! Please be praying for the team and for all of the places we are going to serve this summer.

Hi! My name is LeAnn. I've been volunteering with AM for 2 years. I served on the summer team in 2010 and this year I am serving as student coordinator. I am from Waynesburg, Kentucky, and in December I will graduate from University of the Cumberlands with a degree in Religion and a minor in Church Music. I love to sing, play piano, and learn to play new instruments. I like hanging out with kids and youth, and teaching Bible stories. My other favorite thing to do is plan and organize events and people. Nerdy, huh? I am thrilled to be able to use my abilities to serve Christ this summer, and I am very excited to minister alongside the team.
